This savory pizza uses the fabulous PORTABELLA MUSHROOM as the crust! It's a light and healthy dish - and couldn't be simpler to prepare!
Ready? Here we go: Pizza alla Portabella - serves 4. Preheat oven to 375° 4 large Portabella Mushrooms - remove the stems. Rub the caps with a dry cloth to clean- lightly salt the insides. Bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven and top with your favorite sauce - marinara is my favorite. Sprinkle some chopped, fresh oregano, rosemary or basil on top of the sauce. Add your choice of cheese or a combination - mozzarella, provolone, cheddar. Return to oven for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the mushrooms are tender. Garnish with more fresh herbs. Serve with Montepulciano wine. Fantastico! Buon Appetito! |
